Abstract:

This paper presents a theoretical analysis of a tripleevaporatorejector expansion refrigeration cycle (TEEERC)using isobutane as working fluid. The refrigeration outputhas been used for three different applications of cooling (-3 ͦC), freezing (-21oC), and air-conditioning (5oC),respectively. The energetic and exergetic analyses of theproposed system have been performed leading todetermination of the main source of the irreversibility in thewhole cycle. It is shown that condenser accounts for themain source of the irreversibility which constitutes around46.57 % of the overall system losses. Under the constrainedparameters, the coefficient of performance (COP) andexergy efficiency are calculated 4.898 and 11.92 %,respectively. At last, sensitivity analysis of some keyparameters has been conducted. It has been demonstratedthat one can obtain higher energy and exergy performancesfor a lower condenser temperature and a higher evaporatorstemperature.
