Abstract:

The aim of this study is to derive and compare the performance of the linear model with its nonlinear version, for oscillation of gas bubble. Dynamics of a bubble in N-dimensional, viscous domain by considering surface tension effect for the bubble, underharmonic acoustic pressure fields is formulated by Ndimensional nonlinear Rayleigh-Plesset equation. Governing equation is linearized and exact solution is derived for under-damped condition. Effect of various parameters on response of the system is studied throughnumerical examples. The results are shown that in harmonic acoustic fields with lower pressure fluctuation linear solution can be reliable. In the regime of higher frequency ratio with respect to natural frequency of the bubble, the error between linear solution and itsnonlinear version is negligible and nonlinear modeling is not necessary. Result show that when dimension of space increase, the linear solution is more accurate. Linear solution also has limitation in prediction the subharmonic resonance and response in higher amplituderatio
