Abstract:
In this paper, metal-particle Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) composite with 5% weight fraction of copper micro particles mechanical properties in Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is studied and compared to pure ABS material. The preparation process is started by drying the ABS granule. To produce composite filaments, the copper particles are mixed with ABS granule in a single screw extruder. Following that, the most effective parameters on ultimate tensile strength of printed part in FDM process is specified. Furthermore, for designing experiments, Taguchi DOE method is used. For evaluation of each FDM process effectiveness on samples ultimate tensile strength, the ANOVA analysis is employed. As a result, the process parameters which has the highest effects on ultimate tensile strength of printed pure and composite sample are layer thickness and filling pattern. According to the obtained results, filling ABS with micro copper particles by 5%wt would improve ultimate tensile strength of printed part by 14.36%.
