Abstract:

As this paper’s goal is to find the best method for Aircraft SHM; an introduction has been done for the major damage detection methods by exclusive objective for an aeronautical purpose that has been widely used in the SHM area in recent years. There was a need to choose a suitable method for this purpose with a standard decision manner. The need for a wise and optimum choice for the aircraft SHM method has been fulfilled with the AHP method. A method that can deal with different parameters and can take them into account simultaneously. The final target of this project is to find a major method available with non-complex real-time responsiveness, not to mention that it should be able to work actively on the airplane. Since PCA (principal component analysis) algorithm was the outcome of AHP, a simple code has been applied to some random data to reveal the merits and demerits in practice. As it has been successfully illustrated by practice, PCA can be used easily with a knowledge of data comprehension.
