Abstract:

Acridinediones are heterocyclic compounds containing nitrogen that are the core structure ofa number of biologically interesting compounds. They contain a 1,4-dihydropyridine ringsimilar to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. Furthermore, acridinedione derivatives areknown to be biological agents with anti-fungal, anti-tumor, anti-cancer, and anti-glaucomaproperties [1]. There are many reported methods for the synthesis of acridinedione derivativesincluding multi-component condensation. In this paper, an efficient and green method for thesynthesis of acridinedione derivatives via a one-pot, multi-component condensation of dimedone,various aromatic aldehydes and various aromatic amines using dendrimer super acidicmagnetic nano particles as a heterogeneous nano catalyst under ambient and solvent-free conditionsis described (Fig. 1) [2, 3]. Simple procedure, high yields, short reaction times and reusabilityof the catalyst are advantages of this protocol. The Synthesized compounds are characterizedusing spectroscopic (IR, 1H-NMR) techniques.
