Abstract:

In this study, Ultrafine ethylene vinylacetate(EVA) fiber mats with antibacterial activity against some common bacteria were prepared from a EVA solution containing silver nanoparticles. Electrospinning of EVA solutions containing silver nanoparticles resulted in the formation of smooth fibers. EVA is a biocompatible polymer and the antibacterial activity of this mat is greatest against bacteries in presence of silver nanopaeticles. it was concluded that the electrospun EVA/Ag nanoparticles fiber mat was a good material as wound dressings because it is biocompatible as well as it had excellent antimicrobial ability
