Abstract:

Introduction Over 10 years, stem cells especially mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been considered as valuable and suitable cells for cell-based therapy applications, particularly in clinical trials. In any case, they are as yet not utilized routinely in clinics. At first, it was believed that MSCs play their roles, especially in regenerative medicine due to their differentiation and cell replacement properties. It s demonstrated that therapeutic effect of MSCs belongs to their secretome. Objectives Here, we provide a vision, highlight as well as discussed cell-free therapy as a novel therapeutic intervention and their clinical utilization in order to introduce competitive natural robust bioreactor stem cells on the horizon. Methods Based on our 10 years experiences on the MSCs, we will present some scientific reports to indicate cell-free therapy is a novel and effective therapeutic option. Results Some of the challenges concerning transplanted MSCs are immune-mediated rejection, senescence-induced genetic instability or loss of function, and limited cell survival. Interestingly, it is well-known that MSCs mainly exert their therapeutic effects through their vast bioactive factors. These findings turned scientists consideration toward cell-free therapy concepts. ConclusionStem cells notably MSCs inherently express various important therapeutic agents such as growth factors and cytokines that can be manufactured, handled and stored as a prepared-to-go biologic product. In the other, cell-free property of MSCs open a new field of therapeutic interventions
