THE RELIABILITY OF CIGARETTE CRAVING QUESTIONNAIRE AMONG SMOKERS

Background and Aim : The purpose of this research was the reliability of Persian translated version of the cigarette craving questionnaire among smokers. Methods : For this purpose, the Persian translated version of the cigarette craving scoring scale was distributed among 150 smokers who were selected by random cluster sampling. The research was conducted in a survey method. In order to investigate the factor structure, the reliability and the validity of the questionnaire, the confirmatory factor analysis and the calculation of Cronbach s Alpha coefficient for the whole questionnaire and the factors were used. Results : Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the overall score pattern of this questionnaire has an acceptable fitness with the data. The validity of the tool was calculated using the internal consistency method. Cronbach s Alpha 0/88 indicated that the scale has a good validity. Conclusion : Based on results, it can be said that the Persian translated version of the questionnaire is an acceptable scale for using in the researches on the addiction among users
