THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GENERAL HEALTH AND TENDENCY TO USE DRUG IN STUDENTS OF ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY OF GARMSAR

Background and Aim : One of the most important problem is tendency to use drug, this tendency can disturb individual function in different fields such as personal, social and educational. So the related factors are very important. This research aims to consider relationship between general health and tendency to use drugs in Garmsar Azad university students.Methods : This research is a correlation method that is useed random sampling method which is done on Islamic Azad University of Garmsar Student. The sample contains 90 students (45 boys and 45 girls). The data gathering tool were general health and tendency to use drug questionnaires. Both questionnaires have standard reliability and validity. The gathered data were analyzed by SPSS software.Results : The results showed that there is a meaningful relation between tendency to use drugs and general health in different indicators such as signs of depression, social action, stress and sleep disorder, but there is no relation between tendency to use drug and physical indicators.Conclusion : The results showed that signs of depression, social action, stress, sleep disorder indicators are effective in tendency to use drug. We can by screening students and decreasing above mentioned indicators with related interventions can decrease tendency to use drug.
