DETERMINATION OF THE EFFECT OF DST METHOD ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH CHARACTERISTICS AMONG ADDICTS WHO HAD PAST THE DURATION OF RECOVERY

Background and Aim : Drug abusing can cause some abnormalities in the psychological characteristics among addicts , there is a question that the psychological disorder is the certain reason for taking the drugs or drug consumption is the main reason for incidence of mental disorder among addicts The aim of this study was to determine the effect of DST method and its effectiveness items which is a new procedure in cure of drug addiction . It may change the mood and psychological health status , after 10-12 months of treatment duration in the drug addicts who attempted to quit addictionMethods : Subjects were 500 persons who have been treated by DST method. 24 persons were excluded of study . The remain samples were examined by urine test for recognition of the rate of relapse and complete of SCL-90 questionnaire for checking the mental and psychological status , too.Results : The result showed that %88/4 of them have remain in treatment and do not consume drugs again and %11/6 were relapsed .the results of questionnaire completion are shown in the table and figures below .They divided in 3 groups including 1/ healthy , 2/ Disorder field and 3/ Complete disorder as the measurement the criterion levels for 10 itemsConclusion : results showed that permanent treatment of drug addiction need to a various effectiveness factors , which can cause the improvement of All-round health in addicts , including mental health , physical fitness and behavioral equilibrium with others .It seems that DST method can be effectiveness in partial recovery in this field and/or other society abnormalities
