Background and Objective:
Violence against women, is a global phenomenon and varies according to the political, social and cultural characteristics of each place. Given the high prevalence and adverse effects of physical, mental and social health, it is important to determine the risk factors and the diagnosis of the zoster. Therefore, due to the importance of this issue, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between wife s violence and women s experiences of menopause in Mashhad.Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on 250 women who referred to Mashhad health centers in 1396. Sampling in this research was done by randomized multi-stage random sampling based on community-based, quotas and available. The data collection tools consisted of a questionnaire of menopausal experiences and an infertile husband s behavior questionnaire (wife violence, spouse addiction). The data were analyzed using SPSS16 software. Results: The findings of this study showed that the mean age of the research units was 55.05 ± 5.72 years. The mean score of unhealthy husband s behavior was 19.96 ± 2.55 and the average score of violence was 1.8 ± 2.35 and the mean score of the women s experience assessment questionnaire in menopause was 34.9 ± 16.4. In this study, there was a direct and significant correlation between the wife s unhealthy behavior and the experiences of women in menopause (P = 0.44 r = 0.13). There was a direct and significant correlation between violence with mental, physical and emotional dimension and total menopausal experiences (r = 0.049, p = 0.099; p = 0.009 r = 0/177; p = 0.002 r = 0/211; p = 0/03 r = 0/147). There was a direct and significant correlation between sexual violence and women s experiences in menopause (p = 0.002 r = 0.22).Conclusion: The wife s unhealthy behavior had direct correlation with the experiences of women in general and its various dimensions. Therefore, appropriate counseling and training is needed to improve the level of health literacy and reduce violence and thus reduce the negative experiences of menopause in its various areas.
