Abstract:

Back ground: Promotion of normal birth with the aim of reducing unnecessary interventions and reduce episiotomy is one of the main objectives of the maternal health program.Method: In this study, 40 nulliparus women that expecting normal birth of a singleton, were asked to join the study and received ritgen,s maneuver without episiotomy in the second stage of labor as management perineal technique. the frequency, degree and location of perineal lacerations measured in childbirth. The data have been analyzed with t-test, chi-squer test using statistical 15 spss/ win. The study was approved by the Committee of Medical Ethics) Tabriz University of Medical Sciences(.Results: rate of intact perineum was 42/1% , the first degree tears and the second degree tears were respectively 47/4% , 10/5%. Thirth and fourth degree tears were not observed. laceration in the anterior regions of the perineu ( peri urethra 13/2% and labial 7/9% ) , and the frequency of suture was 55/3% .Conclusion: The midwives can practice techniques based on maternal comfort and other considerations, proposed to reduce episiotomy and prevent perineal trauma during child birth.
