Abstract:
The purpose of present study was to investigate the role of cognitive dysfunctionalattitudes and self-efficacy on achievement motivation of students. A total of 167 studentswere selected using the random sampling. Data were collected using Hermansachievement motivation questionnaire, dysfunctional attitudes scale (DAS) and generalself-efficacy questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation, regression andindependent sample t-test. The results show that and self-efficacy has a significantrelationship with achievement motivation. There was not a significant relationship betweendysfunctional attitudes and achievement motivation. The regression analysis show thatself-efficacy can significantly predict Achievement motivation but dysfunctional attitudescan't predict achievement motivation. There was no differences between gender variable inself-efficacy, dysfunctional attitudes and achievement motivation. With regarding thisresults can conclude that promote of self-efficacy in students can accompanying withachievement motivation promotion.
