Abstract:

Metal-polymer wavy layered composites have high damping and high stiffness, simultaneously. In this paper response of wavy layered steel-polyurethane composites subjected to low amplitude and high frequency harmonic load is studied. Finite element method is used to model a hyper-viscoelastic polymer and after that, wavy composites are simulated. Then, using equation of motion for structures with hystereticdamping, damping coefficient is derived. This coefficient can be used in modeling the equipments which have vibration to observe the influence of using wavy composites as dampers in such structures
