Abstract:
Boundary Element Method (BEM) which is based on the Green’s theory is one of the most applicable methods to investigate the hydrodynamic characteristics of fully submerged moving vehicles. However, this method addresses the steady and inviscid flow around the hydrofoils and does not consider the effect of viscosity for wave formation as well as lift, drag and other hydrodynamic characteristics. In the present study, the results of inviscid flow obtained from BEM are compared with the results of viscose flow around the different types of hydrofoils under the free surface concluded from the ANSYS FLUENT 15.
