Abstract:

Autofrettage process is one of the metal forming method which mainly used in thick-walled cylinder and gun barrel. In this paper, the different processing design factors, including the length of tool sizing region and other effective parameters, have been studied on the required force. For these aims, Autofrettage process has been analyzed with commercially FEM software ABAQUS. Axisymmetric modeling and procedure are used for this purpose. Investigation of the current autofrettage process is employed in two different tool geometries, such as common and innovative geometries. The obtained results of this study could be used to find optimum values for the given tube forming
