Abstract:
Background and Aim: The microbial synthesis of nanoparticles is a green chemistry approach that combines nanotechnology and microbial biotechnology. The aim of this study was to obtain silver nanoparticles (SNPs) using aqueous extract from the filamentous fungus Fusarium oxysporum as an alternative to chemical procedures and to evaluate its antifungal activity agains Aspergillus & Fusarium.Methods:: In this study, we report the synthesis of nanoparticles using F. oxysporum biomass. The silver nanoparticles have been characterized by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infracted spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Also antifungal activity was determined by the well diffusion method. Results:Results showed that the synthesized AgNps have a spherical shape and a size ranging from 25 to 100 nm. Also silver nanoparticles showed antifungal activity against Fusarium and Aspergillus. Conclusion:So silver nanoparticles may represent a new therapeutic option for the treatment of fungal infections.
