Abstract:

Background and Aim : prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common cancer type in men. Some studies reported that sexual transmitted disease may play a role in the etiology of prostate cancerMethods : This study was conducted by searching keywordProstate cancer, sexually transmitted disease, STD, Trichomonas vaginalis databases. Results : Researchers have found evidence of a link between the cancer and trichomoniasis – a common parasite that is passed on during unprotected sexual contact. They show that trichomoniasis may have a potential role in the development of prostate cancer.Inflammation plays a part in cancer development and growth. Conclusion : Is not clear evidence whether there is a link between trichomoniasis and prostate cancer. This arguably suggests that the disease may arise due to a combination of complex risk factors. Further research will be required to investigate whether there is a clear link between trichomoniasis and prostate cancer. Despite the uncertainty of the current situation, Condoms are the most reliable method of protecting both partners from sexually transmitted infections
