Abstract:

In this study cellulose polymeric membranes containing silver Nanoparticles were prepared. Due to biodegradability and eco-friendly characteristic of cellulose .it was used as polymer matrix and antibacterial property was induced by incorporation of silver nanoparticles into the matrix. In this project cellulose was dissolved by using DMAc /LiCl system. the intra and intermolecular hydrogen bonds of cellulose chains were broken and dissolved cellulose was achived. Silver Nanoparticles were prepared in solid form by reducing Ag+ using hydrazine .Distribution of silver Nanoparticles in polymer matrix was performed by mechanical mixing and was characterized by SEM and TEM analyses. Formed membranes containing silver Nanoparticles showed effective antibacterial property in which prevented propagation of bacteria such as S.aureus and E.coli bacteria. additionally, the permibality tests and UV-Visible spectra showed thatbacteria could be also removed by filtering property.Preparation of cellulose based membranes which have permeability and antibacterial activity properties is a new and expandable idea which could be effectively used in water purification . In the other hand, permeability tests and UV-Visible spectra proved that prepared membranes can filtrate bacterial solution
