The Role of Basic Structural Properties in the Text Comprehension of the Oil Corruption Defendant’s Legal Discourse

Each variety of language involves language system of an individual speaker and is established in the same way as any other linguistic construct, most notably, dialect:by a collocation of concurrent linguistic features. This descriptive-analytic paper contains the role of grammar and syntactic structure in forensic discourse to show the importance of the syntactic category information on discourse processing in judicial setting To achieve this, some extracts of the speech samples of the oil corruption defendants in different trial sessions were transcribed and analyzed. The findings showed that syntactic structure has corresponding effects on discourse information structure. Knowledge of linguistic structure and verbal behavior in situational context result in constructing and comprehending sentences and texts, the interpretations of the utterances.
