Abstract:

Nowadays cancer has emerged as a major challenge for mankind. Cancer is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body, Cancer is the most prevalent diseases in the worldwide and the death ratefrom cancer is rising dramatically. Colorectal cancer is becoming increasingly common in Asian countries, efforts to prevent colon cancer have targeted early detection through screening and chemoprevention. For the prevention and treatment of this deadly disease identified a new and efficient strategy appears necessary. Due to the side effects of chemical drugs used to treat cancerpatients, nowadays more attentions reflect to use herbs. Many chemotherapy agents used to treat cancer are currently derived from botanicals. Anticancer agents should be able to kill cancer cells, sinceminimal side effects on normal cells, Ginseng is one of the herbal medicines, with this properties, Identifying herbal sources including those from ginseng family, and to develop better anti-cancer therapies remains an essential step in advancing the treatment of the cancer. Ginseng through different molecular mechanisms, including; inhibition of proliferation and cell growth, Inhibition of invasion and metastasis and induction of apoptosis in cancer cells exerts its anticancer effects. In this review mentioned mechanisms have been investigated.
