Abstract:

Multiple myeloma is the most common bone tumor and Hodgkin is a particular type of lymphoma or cancer that accompanies the abnormal growth of cells in the lymphatic system.The aim of this studywas to Comparison of Platelet count after bone marrow transplantation in patients with multiple myeloma and Hodgkin syndrome on the last day of treatment in the hospital.In this study, 179 patients (137 multiple myeloma and 119 Hodgkin, mean age: 52.3±8.17 and 30.1±9.43 years, respectively) were received transplants from Taleghani hospital in Tehran, Iran, during 2007-2014. Data were collectedfrom patients files and Platelet was considered as a response variable. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 and T-test.179 patients (137 multiple myeloma and 119 Hodgkin, mean Platelet: 69759.8±62838.33 and 54638.7±47397.83, respectively.The mean number of wbc in patients with multiple myeloma is higher than non-Hodgkin s patients, and the changes are statistically significant(P-value=0.008).According to this study, Platelet was associated with individual characteristics such as Disease type
