Abstract:

Esophageal cancer is the eight common cancer worldwide and sixth most common cancer related to death.According to the studies conducted, Over 90% of the EC occur to countries located in esophageal cancer belt, which stretches from north of China to central of Asian and north of. Esophageal cancer is the third most common cancer in Iran. About 5800 Iranian die annually due to the EC. In Iran, 90% of cases involve in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Angiogenesis is an essential factor for tumorigenesis. Angiogenesis production requires some Factors, Which of them can be called from among the most important ones is hypoxia. Hypoxia is a key signal for the induction of angiogenesis. Base on some evidence tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis is closely related to thedegree of intratumoral hypoxia. the transcriptional activity of hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1A) plays an important role in the up-regulation of several hypoxia-related proteins. Overexpression of (HIF-1A) has found to be an essential factor for tumor progression and metastasis in several cancers. This study was performed on 40 ESCC patients. Tumor and their adjacent normal tissues were compared together. To evaluate expression change into (HIF-1A) gene. First, total RNA was extracted from the tumor and normal tissues separately. Then RNA was used for cDNA synthesis. The level of expression of (HIF-1A) relative to GAPDH was measured by performing quantitative Real-Time PCR. In the end, analysis and comparison of tumor tissue and non-tumor were performed.the relative level of Hif-1A was considerably higher in EC tissue compared to the adjacent non-tumor.The tumor growth and metastatic potential of a solid tumor seem to depend on angiogenesis. Change expression that was seen in HIF-1A, may be useful in the future for planning new therapeutic strategies for EC
