Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to evaluate a simplified wave propagation approach which would quickly determine if the structure can resist given ground motion. As many researchers have shown during the early time while the powerful pulses of eartquakes enter the building, under certain conditions it can be assumed that the deformation of the building is determined by the speed of waves going up in the building, and by the speed with which the base is forced to move. The aim of this study is to find if the induced maximum drift of the building undergoing different earthquakes, can be approximated by the recommended straight line. Then principles of PDM (Power Design Method) is used for evaluating of vulanerability of VN7SH building during twenty-five earthquakes.
