Abstract:In this paper, a microstrip Wilkinson power divider (WPD) with harmonic suppression and size reduction is presented. The proposed WPD consists of an LPF which inserted into a quarter-wavelength transmission line of the conventional WPD. The harmonic suppression (2nd − 10th) is achieved, by embedding the proposed LPF in each branch. This structure also causes a reduction of the occupied area over 32% as compared with the conventional one. From the experimental results, the input and output return losses at the center frequency of 1.5 GHz are 25 dB and 30 dB, respectively. The insertion loss is about 3.1 dB and isolation better than 26 dB between port 2 and 3 is obtained.
