Abstract:

The use of non-thermal plasma cool as a tool in medical and food industries, to reduce microbial, Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effects of atmospheric cold plasma reduction E. coli in chicken was performed. In this study 24 treatment under the influence of cold atmospheric plasma intensity 6 liters per minute flow of argon and helium gas on E. coli was performed at three different times. The results showed that microbial log reduction in E.coli ,with argon gas at the time 4, 6 and 10 minutes, 3.5913, 3.3413 and 2.3153CFU / g, respectively and for helium log reduction, 4.1942, 3.5926 and 3.0952 CFU / g .The time and type of gas in reducing the microbial load of E. coli, a significant relationship was observed (p <0.05).The results were good. So that the argon gas to helium gas was effect on E. coli. Therefore, increase in the plasma flow can be reduced microbial load.
