Abstract:

In this study a 3D turbulent flow stirred tank has been studied numerically. For the numerical simulation, a 3D parallel flow solver has been prepared on the base of lattice Boltzmann method. Turbulent flow has been modeled with the largeeddy simulation method. To improve accuracy of the flow simulation in stirred tank, improved bounce back boundary condition has been used for application of moving blades and stationary walls. Comparison of the achieved results, withresults of previous works, in the lattice Boltzmann method, which had been done by force field method, shows that present work results are more accurate than previous one. However, the implementation of the improved bounce back boundary condition is more difficult for cases with complex moving walls
