Deposition of colloidal particles onto substrates is usually assumed to follow the Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek (D.L.V.O.) theory for colloidal stability. In the work presented here the D.L.V.O theory is extended to include the case where the substrate is electronically conducting. Effect of application of an electric field to the substrate on the rate of deposition of 5.4 mm colloidal particles is simulated.
