Abstract:

Modeling and Optimization of increased lipid production of Chlorella vulgaris were used by Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Central Composite Design (CCD). In this study, the response surface methodology was first applied to optimize the photobioreactor increased oil production from microalgae. Seventeen experiments were carried out by adjusting three parameters (pH, temperature, a concentration of CO2) at three levels. Optimal experimental conditions for arbitrarily increased oil production (0.351 mgL-1d) were found at an initial temperature of 27 0C, pH=7.5 and concentration of CO2 at 10% vvm with the photobioreactor and increased oil production of 42.8%. Furthermore, the main oil production intermediate produced was identified by the method of Bingh and Dyer.
