Abstract:

The coke combustion on the spent catalyst for naphtha reforming from an industrial plant has been studied by the thermogravimetry and differential thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) techniques. The results showed that only one type of coke existed on the catalyst surface. It has been proved that, the coke combusion occurred at 480°C for this catalyst. The comustion rtae studied for different partial pressure of oxygen in the feed to TG-DTG instrument. It was shown that the oxygen contents above 18% mol in the feed has no or little effect on the coke comustion rate. The results of this work can be used to understand the decoking process of CCR units.
