Abstract:
Environmental friendly techniques have recently garnered much attentions in various fields of science, because these use the lowest amount of chemicals. The synthesis of nanoparticles in the presence of plant’s extracts is one of these green methods. In the current work, zinc nanoparticles were produced by using jujube fruit extract as reducing agent. Various analyses were conducted to evaluate the formation of zinc nanoparticles. The results obtained from XRD, FTIR, and SEM analyses confirm that nanoparticles of zinc have been synthesized with small size as well as appropriate particle size distribution. In addition, the performance of synthesized nanoparticles in the methylene blue adsorption was investigated. The findings also showed that zinc nanoparticles is suitable for the adsorption of heavy molecules such as dyes, so that an absorption efficiency about 80% was achieved.
