Abstract:
Information finding on the electron transfer of redox-active sites of proteins can be achieved by voltammetric experiments in which the protein molecules are immobilized on a suitable surface. In this study, the main purpose is to modification of electrode surface by nanoparticles for the preparation of suitable surface for proteinimmobilization. The hemoglobin/zinc oxide nanoparticles/platinum (Hb/ZnO NPs/Pt) electrode was prepared by chronoamperometric deposition of the ZnO NPs on electrode surface and immobilization of protein molecules on their surfaces. The electrochemical behavior of immobilized Hb on ZnO NPs/Pt electrode was quasi-reversible. Biocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide was exemplified on the prepared biosensor and the application of this biosensor was developed for the determination of hydrogen peroxide.
