Abstract:

Background and Objective: Over the last 30 years, development of CAD-Cam systems is going beyond the use of traditional techniques. The conventional techniques are complex, error-prone, time-consuming and expensive process. So we evaluate the CAD-CAM usage in fixed prostheses in fit, retention, accuracy and success of treatment plan.Search Method: An electronical search was perfomed via Pubmed by following keywords CAD-CAM and implant and fixed prostheses . We found 84 articles and we choose 9 of them.Finding: Digital workflow was more efficient .Titanium and zirconia implant frameworks can be fabricated with a high level of accuracy. Most of the studies reported a clinically acceptable range for marginal adaptation. The performance of a CAD-CAM system relative to marginal/internal fit is influenced by the type of restorative material*. No statistically significant difference was found for the marginal fit of onlays between an intraoral and extraoral optical scan. The performance of a CAD-CAM system relative to marginal adaptation is influenced by the restorative material. Conclusion: CAD-CAM systems improve the average quality of prostheses adaption, higher retention, better fit, more patient satisfaction and the process was shorter. It may lead us to better outcomes
