Abstract:

Background and objective: According to the effect of the different splinting materials on the fixture level implant impression (open tray technique) and the accuracy of the final cast dimensions and different view points on its best technique in dentistry, this research was conducted in order to study the effect of the fixture level implant impression (open tray) accuracy with two different splinting materials.Material and methods: In this experiential research, at first two pieced steel index was prepared it was poured by a self-cure acryl in the lower part of the index that imitated the jaw of the patient. Then two holes were prepared with specific intervals in the acryl and the analogs were placed in the holes and cemented in it then with the help of upper part of the index which plays custom tray role three casting techniques were evaluated by open tray method with two different splinting material. GC Pattern resin LS America and Jig-Gel(biodenzircise,korea). The dimensional accuracy of the prepared casts was assessed by comparing defined points on the implants analogs with similar intervals in the main model. Measuring the defined intervals was done by digital caliper with hundredths of a mm precision and the difference in measurements of the final casts was analyzed by software SPSS 17 and One Sample T-test. For paired comparison Mann-Whitney U was used.Finding: Splinting impression copings by GC pattern resin without cutting and reconnecting the splint of impression copings was the most accurate splinting material. Both splinting material had same result in splinted impression copings and reconnected splint of impression copings. Conclusion: Considering that the splinted impression copings prevented impression copings movement during impression this technique had best accuracy and splinting impression copings by GC Pattern resin without cutting and reconnecting the splint of impression copings was the most accurate splinting material. splinting impression copings by Jig-Gel as a light-cured splinting material did not make a significant effect in increasing the dimensional accuracy of the final cast. Reconnected splint of impression copings and splinted impression copings methods had similar results
