Styrene Monomer Reactor Modeling and Simulation by Neural Network Model

Due to its wide application, styrene is considered as an important product in industry. So, in petrochemical industry optimizing conditions of styrene production is of great importance. Here, a pseudo-homogeneous model is developed using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model. The design and evaluation of model is carried out using industrial data which show credibility of designed model. The effects of input parameters such as the molar ratio of the steam to ethyl benzene in the feed (S/E) and inlet temperature on final conversion of ethyl benzene and styrene selectivity were studied using proposed mathematical model. The optimum structure of neural network was determined by a trial-and-error method and different structures were tried.
