Abstract:

The purpose of this study is designing the tuned liquid dampers and determining their impact on offshore steel jacket platform. This platform is located in the 4 Phase South Pars in the Persian Gulf. In this study, the effect of the tuned liquid dampers that set under the deck of the offshore steel jacket platform is investigated to reduce seismic vibrations. For dissipation the seismic energy, the tuned liquid dampers with cylindrical shape in offshore steel jacket platform is used. The platform is model as a single degree of freedom with the equations of motion of structures and dampers with the Matlab/Simulink toolbox. The results showed that this types of seismic dissipation devices reduced RMS of response about 17 percent and the maximum of displacement about 6 percent.
