Abstract:
In this paper, C3H8 reforming with steam was studied over Ni/SiO2 catalysts with various Ni contents for the production of syngas. Ni/SiO2 catalysts with the high specific surface area were prepared using a wet-impregnation method. The prepared catalysts exhibited high catalytic performance (activity and stability) in steam reforming reaction. The obtained results indicated that the increase in nickel content increased the reactant conversion and H2 yield and the amount of deposited carbon on nickel catalysts. In addition, the effect of feed ratio was examined and the results showed that the increase in Steam/C3H8 molar ratio from 1 to 3 increased the propane conversion and H2 yield. With the increase of gas hourly space velocity (GHSV), the propane conversion and H2 yield decreased.
