Abstract:

One of the most challenging and important issues in designing of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is devising a routing algorithm, which decreases energy consumption and increases lifetime of such networks. Lots ofmethods have been presented so far, however, among them the clustering based routing is the most effective routing algorithm. In these methodswhich often based on a hierarchical algorithm, nodes are dividing in several groups so called cluster. Each one of these nodes sends its data to corresponding Cluster-Head, and then the Cluster-Head aggregates all dataand send them to the Base Station. In this paper, we have proposed a clustering based routing technique, so called LECEC in which the Cluster- Heads are chosen by a proposed Efficiency Factor. Simulation results show that LECEC shows better performance in decreasing energy consumption and increasing lifetime in comparison with the well-knowntechniques such as LEACH and PEACH.
