Abstract:

Introduction: The aim of current study was to investigate neuropsychological disorders in children with dysgraphia using Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children-4 (WISC-4).Method: The current study was causal-comparative and its statistical population included all students in Shiraz schools as well as the students, suffering dysgraphia in educational centers for learning disabilities. A sample of 60 people, including 30 students with dysgraphia (15 girls and 15 boys) and 30 normal students (18 girls and 12 boys) was selected using convenience sampling method. WISC-IV was administrated for all participants. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance. Results: The results showed that there were significant differences between the boys and girls with dysgraphia in two subtests including Letter-Number Sequencing and Vocabulary with the girls and boys in the normal group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference between groups in Cancellation and Symbol Search subtests (P > 0.05).Discussion: The results showed that the girls and boys with learning disabilities were weaker than normal group in terms of working memory, the process speed tasks and verbal perception. Both groups performed similarly in subtests of Symbol Search and Cancellation.
