Climate Change and its effect on agricultural water consumption in Torbat Heydarieh

Climate change and increase in temperature are of effective factors in agriculture and environment. Climatic models predict that the Earth temperature will increase about 1˚C to 3.5˚C till year 2100; that is more than temperature variations of preceding 10,000 years. So, potential evapotranspiration and crop water requirement, that are closely connected to temperature, will be affected by these climatic changes. In this paper, first, daily reference evapotranspiration has calculated using Hargreaves-Samani equation for 1960 to 2009 period in Torbat Heydarieh. Next, water requirement has evaluated for dominant crops of region. Running HadCM3 Model with A2 scenario, minimum and maximum temperature estimated for 2010-2039 era. Then, reference evapotranspiration calculated using Hargreaves-Samani method. Finally, water requirement has predicted for dominant crops during next 30 years and water requirement changes has investigated
