Abstract:

In this study, the emerging technology of two-dimensional nanomaterials is used to capture and collect methane and carbon dioxide greenhouse gasses from the environment. An important feature of this research is that the adsorption and desorption of methane and carbon dioxide on the surface of the designed nanosheets is completely controllable. By electron, injection to the nanosheet, the physicaladsorption and therefore accumulation of these molecules on the nanosheet surface occurs, and the removal of the electrons causes the release of these gases from the nanosheet surface which enabling these desorbed gases to undergo another chemical reaction cycle and turned into non-greenhouse materials. Structural investigations show that the geometry of these nanosheets does not change along theadsorption or desorption processes, which makes the nano filters renewable for repeated usage
