Abstract:

The Monte Carlo simulation in NVT ensemble has been performed to investigate the interaction force between colloidal nano particles that determine the stability of nano particle suspensions. It has been assumed that the hard nano particles have been suspended in GB solvent. The system is in 1 dimensional limit. The effect of packing fraction and temperature of the solvent on the interaction force has been studied. For solvent with packing fraction of 0.8, repulsive oscillatory force is revealed for small distances which goes to more attractive oscillatory behavior and finally shows damped oscillation for further distances(for both considered temperatures). For packing fraction of 0.5, at small distances the attractive oscillatory behavior is seen which goes to a damped oscillatory behavior for further distances. More fluctuations are seen for higher packing fraction. Similar fluctuations are seen for two temperatures for both considered packing fractions. The magnitude of the attractive force increases by increasing temperature for constant distance of nano particles.
