Abstract:

Background and Objective: Schizophrenia is an exceptionally both environmental and heritable neurodevelopmental disorder. Patient s induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSCP) can be helpful in the precise discovering cellular pathology of schizophrenia. The study is designed to investigate the function of induced Pluripotent Stem Cell in schizophrenia patients. Search Method: Statistic population included English studies with various aspects of iPSC in schizophrenia patients. Keywords registered included: schizophrenia, iPSC, cellular models and neurogenesis. Papers were extracted from valid resources such as PubMed, Science Direct, and Elsevier. Findings: After searching, screening and qualitative evaluation, the final syntheses were performed on 18 articles. Studies indicate that some schizophrenia-associated genes are controlled by the microRNA mir-137 which are relevant to the function of TCF4 and ZNF804A. Mir-137 targets even should not be mutated, otherwise they would lead to schizophrenia. Results of iPSCs clearly show that genetic causes can make environmental stressors play key role in patient s brain abnormalities. Conclusion: Via iPSC, the field for detecting chemical agents and dysfunctional abnormalities will be prepared. Besides iPSC, we can take advantage of 3D brain culture to recognize cellular phenotypes.
