COGNITION, MIMD, AND POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WORDS

With the advent of researches in the realms of psycholinguistics, neurolingustics, and cognitive studies toward translation studies, a new perspective framed in translatology. Emphasis on the mental and human cognitive aspects, and their links with mental activities persuaded the theoreticians of translation to change the route and the method of research from product-oriented matters to process-oriented matters in translatology. In this paper, we are going to survey the influence of positive and negative words (e.g. help and murder respectively) in the original onto the translator to see how they are translating mentally and cognitively. In the process of translation, translator’s decisions and mind’s performance are involved
