Abstract:

Background: Determining the incidence rate can clarify the risk difference between a disease, at different times and in different geographical areas. The purpose of this study was to calculate of specific age Incidence rates due to Women Brest Cancer in West Azarbaijan province in 2012 and 2013.Methods: In a cross-sectional study, referring to the Cancer registration information of the province, specific age Incidence rates was calculated. Results: The Incidence rate in 2012 and 2013 was 12.2 and 14.2 per 100,000 people respectively. In both years, the Incidence rates gradually increased to the middle ages, and then declined. The highest Incidence rate from brest cancer in 2012 and 2013 was in the age group 45-59 years (44.01 and 50.9 per 100,000 people in 2012 and 2013 respectively) and then was in the age group 60-69 years (27.5 and 37.5 per 100,000 people in 2012 and 2013 respectively).The highest Incidence rate from brest cancer in 2012 was in the Khoy county (27.2 per 100,000 people) and then was in the Urmia county (25.5 per 100,000 people). The highest Incidence rate from brest cancer in 2013 was in the Urmia county (30 per 100,000 people) and then was in the Khoy county (22.2 per 100,000 people). Conclusion: The incidence rates of breast cancer in the province has increased in all age groups in 2012 compared to 2013, which indicates the necessity of Primary Prevention to reduce the incidence of breast cancer in this province.
