Abstract:

Stainless steel 316L is widely used in different industrial applications such as chemical vessels, cellulosesdevices, and the vital components of pumps and compressors such as shaft and impeller. The impeller is affected bypumped chemical materials during the operational conditions. Comparing the material with stainless steel 304L, the316L contains Molybdenum (Mo) which increases its resistance against the corrosion. Stainless Steel applied in turbomachinesis subjected to high cycle fatigue loading which is the main reason in failure of impellers and blades. Hence,in this research, to specify the rate of cyclic stress loading on a notched specimen in high cycle fatigue analysis,numerical results are achieved and validated by experimental tests.
