Abstract:

The incidence of varicose veins varies from 10% to 30%.Patients with varicose veins present from asymptomatic to significant symptoms, including discomfort, aching, pain, itching or eczema, ulcer and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).The diagnosis and treatment of venous disease has advanced more in the last recent years. Combination of Ultrasound, endovenous ablation techniques, foam sclerotherapy and tumescent anesthesia have greatly improved patient care and have moved treatment from the operating room to the office or radiology suite.In this article I review the most recent advances and techniques in treatment of varicose veins.
