Abstract:
Sewage sludge supplies a high content of different matter with favorable effects on soil physical, chemical and microbiological properties. Also, farm application of sewage sludge can potentially increase nutrient contents in soils, which can be useful in order to increase crops growth. On the other hand, the results of many research show that Sewage sludge's are contain high level of heavy metal such as Cd, As, Cr and Ni, also have raised concerns regarding food safety and long-term soil productivity. Therefore, Technologies are currently being developed in order to solve sludge contamination problems. Additionally, in recent years greenhouse cultivation has been grown in Iran. The most of these greenhouses produced a lot of residual. So, if we can transfer these produced to the benefit material such as compost it will be important for environmental health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the reducing of Cadmium concentration by adding natural zeolite when used as an ingredient during the composting process.
