Abstract:

Hydatid cyst is important zoonotic disease that caused by the cystic larval stage of the tapeworm echinococcus granulosus. Disease causes great economic losses to communities and farmers. Also create a serious disease in humans. This disease has a worldwide distribution and used to be particularly common in developing and undeveloped countries. Hydatid cyst is relatively high prevalence in Iran. disease in livestock are diagnosed when animals are sent to abattoirs for slaughtered. In this cross-sectional analytic-descriptive by using the simple random sampling a total of 4000 goats and 4000 sheeps in 1 year by macroscopic method. The prevalence of hydatid cyst in livestock was %4.6.the sheep (%7.3) from the goat (2.1) higher pollution. The female was more infected than the mail(p<0.001). The highest and lowest rates of infection were observed in spring and winter respectively(p<0.003). The feritility of hydatid cyst in liver (%62.4) was more than lung (%36.4). Considering the relatively high prevalence of hydatid cyst in slaughtered livestock of masjed-soleyman. causing great losses for farmers and the presence of canines in polluted areas and the life cycle of the parasite. the risk of disease transmission to human is high in these areas. Therefore, the importance of health issues of slaughtered livestock should be taken very seriously.
