The gram negative, microaerophilic bacterium Helicobacter pylori colonizes the human gastric mucosa and causes atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcer, and gastric carcinoma. The cytotoxin-associated gen A (CagA) is one of the most important virulence factors in H.pylori. The aim of the present study was to construct a recombinant protein containing antigenic regions of cagA and determining its antigenicity as a vaccine candidate of H. pylori
